Mark Noble was great today
|
I just wanted to give him separate recognition in what was a brilliant day for the team. Today he was so good, so composed and our leader. He never hides and believe me Man Utd would love a player with that commitment. Knock him all you like but I think he was the difference today.

It is great that Pelle has realised that he needs to play with a bit more freedom, further up the pitch and that he need more mobility alongside him. Having him alongside Wilshere in a four will never work (I actually think Jack would also be able to play the same role Nobes did today).

He was absolutely top class. In a game where we had so many good performers, and in which we were up against a team with proper world class players, to be so clearly MOTM says it all.
New lease of life under a top class manager.

Noble has never been the problem. He has proven time and time again that when he has quality players around him, and particularly when he has freedom to be involved further up the pitch, he has never looked out of place, and I'm talking the likes of Payet, Tevez, Bellamy, Lanzini, Arnie, and now the new boys are begining to settle in, and this new set up is taking root, we once again see how good our captain is a football, not just leadership.
He's never been about pace, and with his stamina he has one of the best engines in world football, often (usually?) topping the kms covered charts. So I hope he has a few years more where we see his best stuff. Indeed, a Pirloesque swansong to his career.
And another thing. I still say he is the true England captain. He has captained England at every level apart from the senior squad. Loads of England players of recent years, and perhaps for years to come have already been captained by him. If Woy were as wise as the owl he looks like, he would have made Noble England captain for France 2016. You would never have got those gutless performances we saw.
Apart from the exceptional few, you all know it's true.

This is the truth I am not a big Noble fan and have moaned quite a lot about him in the past but I saw West ham play live only once in the final season at Upton Park and he was the best player for me, he was clever and his brain was very quick and creative. I remember saying to my brother he was great and he said who Payet?, and I said no Noble, so I know he can play very well it is just that for me when he is playing defensively he looks very ordinary and even quite lost.

He ran that midfield today! Pogba subbed says it all, he was having no impact on the game
The ball through for our third can really be described as ‘SLIDE RULE’

Top class today well done Nobes!
Playing in an offensive positive team helps!
7 West Ham Utd managers can`t be wrong about this boy!
I said to my lad today, who would you rather have in your team, Noble or Pogba? Enough said.
While we are at it, who would you rather have Rice or Matic? Enough said! COYI

I've always said that technically and intelligence-wise, he is excellent and, given the right players around him, what he is there for is to make teams with the like of Pogba and Lukaku look second rate.

Would love it if Nobes gets an England call up on the back of his recent displays. Would be fitting and I am sure he would be ecstatic.

Pellers seems to have hit up in a winning formula in midfield which is bringing the best out of Noble pushed further forward. Long may it continue.

No one performs better when the chips are down, his passion then seems to rub off, and he has been excellent since the Everton game.

Another great game from the captain, when we played with a lone striker up front under fat Sam and Moyes he was often forced to pass sideways or back to keep possesion as there was no-one to pass to ahead of him! Now we're attacking in numbers he's back to playing those killer passes he was making in Slav's first season, underated by some of our fans but never by his fellow professionals

There are two things I have noticed 1) There is more urgency (fitness) amongst the players the defence worked their socks off too , 2) I honestly believe they have been told not to over think things and to use instinct so the passing is a lot slicker and faster.
Noble when the team is playing well and he is allowed to play positively and attack, looks a very decent player.

simply playing further forward and freed from the shackles of defensive midfielder responsibility. same goes for obiang. it's a lost easier if you're moving forward to play forward rather than standing still and having to start the transition. it's basiacally down to having rice behind them.

He has often been slated for always passing backwards and sideways, but in this slightly more advanced position and in a side that's buzzing and working for each other he is a top top player.

That's what I was thinking but wasn't quite brave enough to say it. He is so much better further up the field and drifting into space (and Man Utd sure left plenty of that), killer pass too. Pirlo was also pretty slow but never stopped moving a bit like Noble.
